Paranoid schizophrenia
My mother was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia 2 years back, she recovered completely and her medications were stopped in May 2017. Her condition has relapsed now She is on medication again from last week. She is taking Qutan 50 mg and Ativan 1 mg on SOS basis. She is also diabetic. Her condition is not improving, instead becoming worse.

Sorry to hear about your mother's recurrence of schizophrenic illness. Sometimes stress among various other factors can trigger recurrence. Although it is prudent to restart medication which had previously controlled her symptoms, it would also be helpful to assess her situation for any psycho-social stress including any physical illness. Also her medication needs to be adjusted depending on her tolerance. Best wishes.
