Persistent pain in the chest .

Hii doctor , i have a persistent pain in my chest area from a week . Mostly on the left but sometimes on the right. One night i fealt like short of breath and discomfort. Their is no such problem of cough. and the chest x ray is also clear. Suggest what to do.
