Pityriasis rosea
I went to see my primary care dr. who diagnosed me pityriasis rosea and prescribed an antifungal cream. everything I read online indicates it is not a fungal infection. I have the classic herald patch followed by the rash on my chest stomach and back. I treated with hydrocortisone cream for about a two weeks prior to seeing my dr. this seemed to alleviate the symptoms but he then prescribed the antifungal. Not sure what to do now.

P roses is not a fungal infection. I am unsure why your doctor gave you an anti fungal medicine . The treatment consists of a mild steroid like hydrocortisone which you have already taken and an antiviral medication like acyclovir
