When your have a injury , say fracture . One tends not you use muscles around it due to pain which leads to disuse muscle atrophy.
So post operation, one starts moving muscles and joints thereby increasing their bulk and power.
Therefore, it is not that plate and screws would affect muscle bulk or quality, but it is the fracture oe injury that causes reduced muscle bulk and tone.
Health Tips
Post operation, start physiotherapy immediately to build on muscle tone and bulk.
When you have a fracture and also have surgery, the usage of that limb is less. Die to the reduced usage, the size of the muscle goes down. This is seen very often. Plate and screw in no way interferes with muscle growth. You will need to work harder on the limb which has the metalwork to build the muscle. This will take time but the muscle bulk will come back.
No way it is not related to plate and screw but the length depend on the fracture type only so no need to worry about it if u have posted ur x Ray would have been very much better
Next Steps
Check ur leg length comparing with the normal leg which is not fractured
Health Tips
If there is limb length discrepancy u need to wear a shoe with some sole outside extra to make it near normal to the other leg so that u won’t limp n near future
