I have been having major depressive episodes 10 to 15 days prior to periods. Symptoms range from lack of interest in anything going on to sudden crying spells. Once I get my periods I tend to recover by the 3rd day. But these crying spells and inability to strengthen my mental health prior to periods is affecting my daily life. How does one deal with such PMS issues?

Hello Friend, Good that you are seeking a help here. Came across your query. As am also an ayurveda wellness counselor, sharing a different prepective of your problem through Ayurveda angle. See if this helps in addressing this problem.
In ayurveda term air energy (called Vata) in body is responsible for any movement principles inside the body and mind. Suppose if it's impaired or imbalanced it causes constipation, menstrual issues, reproductive issues, sleeplessness, palpitations, lack of appetite, headache, body pain etc. As body and mind are interlinked such physical disturbance can influence your mind by triggering depression and anxiety.
Your symptoms of PMS related issues could be due to Vata imbalance in your body.
Ayurveda has solutions to address this problem through few lifestyle changes, self therapies, dietary changes and excersise, natural supplements etc. Feel free to reach me to understand this alternative solution.
