Hello, It is vaccine to prevent bacterial infections that a caused by pneumococcal strains. It is indicated in people with lung infections, immuncomprimized people like people with aids and also can be given to people with diabetes. And yea it works by developing antibodies to the bacterial strains of the vaccine. Doses depends upon he severity and the necessity of one. Thank you
