Possible exposure to rabies?
Hello doctors, kindly go thru my concern patiently (as it may be a bit long) and advise the next steps. A few days ago, I found a bat flying around. It was dark, so only after switching on the lights did I find there was a bat. I am not sure where it came from. I had to extend my arm to turn on the light and I suspect possible exposure to the bat and I am worried whether or not to go for ARV boosters. I didn't find any bite/scratch marks.
I had taken Abhayrab vaccines (5 doses) without the HRIG about 3 - 4 years ago. Kindly answer the questions in order, it will be very helpful.
1. Is there a possible exposure?
2. For how long are the previous doses supposed to provide protection against rabies?
3. Should I go for ARV boosters? If so, how many doses & for how long will they provide protection?
