Need to see the X-ray before commenting. RCT is required if the infection has reached the nerve. Otherwise not.

It depends on if the decay has infected the pulp of the tooth. Clinical examination and X-ray are required to advise you

Hello As you complain of pain it indicates that the decay has already infected your pulp ( nerves and blood supply of the tooth) Filling will not help You need to go for a root canal treatment Wherein the pulp itself will be removed and replaced with a suitable filling material. Root canal is incomplete without a cap. Placing a cap is mandatory An xray can be taken to confirm the diagnosis.
Next Steps
visit your nearby dentist and start the treat asap.
Health Tips
Donot delay the treatment...it might lead to complications Donot self medicate yourself for pain....it's all temporary Donot leave the treatment incomplete For temporary pain management until you start the treatment.... Luke warm salt water gaurgle 4-5 times a day will help. Incase of severe pain drink cold water.... eat an ice-cream or apply ice-cubes from outside. keep the mouth clean... brush twice. Take care
