Prolong cough
My 4 year old son has  cough since a week  and blocked nose ( only when he sleeps) . There is no runny nose or symptoms of congestion . I am giving him ascoril ls surup . Does he require antibiotics?

NO!! If mild,avoid unnecessary medicine and just give steam inhalations for cold and cough and decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down. If not improving OR accompanied by other symptoms like wheezing or breathlessness or dullness and refusal to feed,consult your paediatrician for physical examination and treatment.
