My dad was treated with catheter and drained 1.5lts of urine but the hospital is not discharging him and practicing catheter clamping, Is it necessary for him to be admitted for 48hrs ?

No..he can be discharged...he wl need catheter for a long time and then we'll need further tests before catheter removal.
