Psychaitric/mental abilty
One of my relatives is suffering from an unknown mental condition in which he has lost his sense of responsibility. He was working well in his job but slowly his condition worsened after this mental condition started and initially he would have problems in sleeping and his behaviour started becoming abnormal and illogical. Also, he is unable to pickup/remember new things, memory has deteriorated and has lost sense of responsibility. He is suffering from this from more than 10 years and all the doctors we consulted provided medicine which relieved his abnormal behaviour a bit but could not restore him to his earlier healthy mental state. Can he recover his normal mental health?

Respected Sir, I am touched by your concern for the condition of your "relative". However, I wont be able to help you much without knowing in detail about the onset and progress of his symptoms. Since you did mention a deterioration in memory, it could be a dementing process and if that is the case, it would be progressive and medicines can only help relieve his symptoms and behavioural problems and they wont be able to restore him to his previous healthy state. However many reversible causes of dementia have to be ruled out initially before I can confidently say that he wont be able to reurn to his previous healthy state.
