Pus on my leg

Hi sir my father is a diabetic patient. He got hurt and the wound on the leg became a small pus. It's been 5 weeks and now my father used an amikacin injection 500 ml full concerning a pharmacist.Is the injection good to solve the problem or it can make any side effects.please help me. Thank you.
