The prognosis of any cancer depends on the the stage of the cancer.
If the stage is early stage then the prognosis is very good and if it is late stage then it is bad.
While the change in looks depends on involvement of the number of structures in cancer.
So I would suggest you to post the stage of cancer after consulting an ent specialist and then we can tell you exactly.
