Quitting smoking
Hello doctor, my husband has been smoking cigarettes and weed for the past 7 years. He gradually decreased smoking and now he has completely stopped. Now I wish to consult a doctor to know the exact effects of smoking on his body and I wish that he regains his normal health. So whom should I go for consultation? A general physician or specialist

It is an excellent news that your husband was able to quit smoking. Wonderful things about body is it starts recovering itself from many harmful effects that were previously there but some damages which have already been made to the lung are irreparable. However over all health improves tremendously. You can simply consult a general physician and discuss if your husband feels any kind of health related issue or are there any cravings for smoking. A nor.al over all body check up will do. Simply get an xray chest, complete blood count, blood sugar, spirometry test for lung capasity , blood pressure. These tests are enough.
