Red Patches on roof of my mouth
I have developed red patches on roof of my mouth. Although, it's painless and non itchy. I have no difficulties in swallowing food as well. But, I had history of smoking for four years. I have already quit it from 1.5 months. I was also  Gargling my mouth with hot water for few days. Have the patches formed due to thermal burn? But, as I told it's painless with no such burning sensation and neither do I have any such patches or lesions at any other parts of mouth.

Red patches also develop due to smoking... We cal it nicotina palatini... However ur patches is not an ideal picture of it...so need a clinical examination for a confirm diagnosis... Need to know some of history also like since wen u r having these patches, etc... For now stop any hard food or gargle as it may aggravate it... Wait n watch for 3 months.. Quit habit...

Next Steps
Use Rexidine m forte gel or Dologel or Mucopain.  Use any one of the gel above and apply on those red patches and apply it for 4 to 5 times in a day.And kindly wait for 3 to 5 days, within these days, if you are having symptoms like fever and weakness then consult to your dentist.

Hello Sir , Welcome to Practo This is your Dentist - I went through the query and the attached images.  Yes, Red patches are due to thermal burn from the hot gargel . Skin up there is very delicate . Use luke warm water to gargle and not excessive warm. Stop it(gargling) for a while and just use a mouthwash instead - Colgate Plax mouthwash. If there is burning sensation after use, kindly dilute with water. - Applying nubing Gel over the are will induce Gagging. So no ointment needed. You will be fine nothing to worry about. Have a Good day. Thank's Alot.
