Red rashes and itching over body
Hi I had virul fever for 4 days and i took PCM with Azithromicin in the very first day if it. After which i started having itching and red rashes all over the body, i consulted doctor, got dangue test done, also stopped the antibiotics (Azithromicin) Doctor said its normal and would stop itself soon. Its been two days since fever stopped, but the rashes are still a big problem and itching would not stop! Doctro says its normal but it has become a bigger problem than the fever itself. Lotions did not help. What should i do. Btw i am still taking PCM as recommend for fever. No dangue though! Along with itching, throat pains a lot. Help.

You are probably suffering from what Dermatologist call urticaria. Common causes are food allergy, infection or drugs taken for some condition. It presents with itching resulting in formation of red rashes which we call hives or wheals. Although in most cases cause remains unknown in spite of a thorough search, in your case it is due to the viral infection. It can be symptomatically treated with medicines so that you do not get any new hives. The treatment should be prolonged until it resolves which usually takes 1 to 6 months. Please call me or contact me through online consult option for further details and treatment.
