Reflux in breastfed baby
Hi, My 5months old daughter gets reflux every now and then, but not everyday. She screams until she vomits it out. Especially it starts at night and its been continuing right from her birth. I hardly get to sleep these days. Day time also she doesn't sleep well . Colicaid drops doesn't seem to help her while she feels reflux. Please please suggest me something for her to get relief from reflux especially during bed time. Birth wt - 2.84kg Current wt - 6kg , she is active and exclusively breastfed normal baby. Haven't given any top food or formula. Thanks in advance.

Good to know that you have exclusively breast fed the baby. Weight is ok as per growth charts. You (mother)can try to eat a simple home diet ( khichdi etc). This may help although not proven. Avoid outside and packaged food. Also there are other medicines which can be given to the baby. But please consult a pediatrician directly for those.

Hi, Babies weight is normal for the age. Burp or hold erect after every feed for 15-20 min. Feed on demand.
Next Steps
Give gentle bath before bedtime, this will help in sleeping

Dear parents, According to me hold the baby in one arm keeping his head at elbow joint and the buttocks in the palm of same arm and feed the baby for 15to20minutes . Hold the baby outer palm in between the thumb and index finger and press the palm when ever baby sleep or stop feeding. After feeding put the baby on left shoulder and pat just behind stomach level for 5mintues to burpe on back of the baby. Baby burp 3to5times. After burping lay down the baby onright side of the baby putting a pillow below head maintaining that head is above level of stomach. Don't pat over shoulder. Don't feed baby in lap. Feed baby from one breast at a time. Drink lots of water before breastfeeding and during breast feeding . Your solution is burping after every feed. When baby suck air and milk goes in stomach during sucking .in stomach after mixing with HCL milk convert into curd and settles air is released now if you burp properly this air passes out &if not after some time expels from mouth with air &milk, for you reflux. If not passed thru mouth than passes in intestine &latter passes as gas thru anus. If cannot pass start crying.
