Urine pregnancy test is a very specific test for detecting pregnancy. It has a negative predictive value of almost 100%. Hence if it is negative a week after your periods, it means you are not pregnant.
Next Steps
If you still have doubts about the upt kit or are not sure about the test result on the urine test, you can do a blood test for serum beta-hcg or an ultrasound for final confirmation.
Health Tips
An ultrasound is the gold standard test for confirmation or exclusion of pregnancy.
