Risdone LS tablet
My 72 year old Grandmother is suffering from Memory loss problem since last 2 years & she has become little aggressive since last 8 months. So when we took her to a Geriatric Psychiatrist they gave a Tablet called RISDON LS for 15 days ( which must be given at night) but my family and Physician is saying THIS TABLET CALLED RISDON LS IS GIVEN FOR TREATMENT OF SCHIZOPHRENIA. My Grandmother doesn't have Schizophrenia SO SHOULD WE GIVE THIS TABLET ??? Will it have any Side effect????

Hi Sir Thanks for seeking help here. Definitely Risdon is a choice for Schizophrenia. You are absolutely right. This is a very common questions why your doctor started that for behavioral problems and memory issues. Let's have a talk.... Risperidone has many uses one of the common use is aggressive and irritability. It's not for memory. I think that's the reason for starting the medication. But sir to be honest without a proper diagnosis doctors never start such medication... So please continue,  and remember if she is not tolerating this medication plz stop it without doubt.  Happy to help you... Regards Practo.

Are your physician and family more knowledgeable about ?Alzeimer than the Geriatric Psychiatrist. It is in your interest to follow what the learned Geriatric Psychiatrist says
