Rusted puncture in hand
3 days ago i got a rusted nail stuck in my hand and and went to the er to get it taken out . They sent me home with antibiotics and assumed iv had a tetanus shot. When i got home i realized i have not had this shot, i called my primary doctors office to verify i didn't have this shot. But there is a chance iv maybe had this shot 3 years ago at another doctors office. Im unable to contact this office to be sure .
My question is , should i go and get a tetanus shot even tho iv possibly gotten it 3 years ago, Is it safe ? Or did i wait too late ?
Im panicking on what i should do, any advice is helpful thankyou!

Re vaccination is required after 5 years of last dose... If in doubt take a shot this time and remember the year of taking vaccine... No need to worry
