Scared I may have shingles
My upper part of my arms for the last 2 weeks have a burning (like pins constantly poking me). I feel the only way to make it feel it better is to scratch it, but it makes the top of my arm worse.

Thanks for the query. You should meet a Dermatologist for sure and initiate on appropriate treatment as early as possible. There are effective treatments available to reduce pain and dryness and some to reduce the shingles. Delaying or no treatment can lead to a condition called post herpetic neuralgia. Considering the above facts delaying consultation is not advisable. Other family members who never had chicken pox should be advised to refrain from close contact with affected member or isolate the affected member as shingles can cause chicken pox in others. Hope it helps you.
