Hello, I can understand the problem you are facing. You have to understand what he is doing is because of the illness. He has no touch with the reality at present and once he will improve with medication everything will be fine. If he have an issue with medication and not taking regularly than he can be started on long acting injectables which are to be given once in a month. Once his symptoms will improve he can be educated regarding illness and need to take medication. Any drug is started after considering the patient profile. If your practitioner has advised continue with drug, it usually take some time to show its effect. The drug dosage can be increased to maximum tolerability level gradually. Though olimelt help in sleep as well, if there is no improvement in sleep he can be advised benzodiazepines for short term.
