Scoliosis in S shaped
Hi Dr. I have Scoliosis in S shape and few days ago I went for digital x-ray and came to know that left portion of the upper body is affected by the Scoliosis. I never have a problem in doing any work, however my body posture doesn't seem normal if someone look with a good observation. I don't seem to have a major injury. I consulted a doctor recently and he advised me to go for physiotherapy treatment for 3 to 4 months and need to continue those exercise for muscle strength for quite long. Is it possible to fix this with physiotherapy? Can the spine gets straight after this? I recently got married and she has a problem with this as I didn't inform about this abnormal posture. It's visible when I wear tight fit the shirts or shirts. She read it online.. It may be genetical... She is worried about our future children.. She may accept me but she don't want that it affects our future babies... How can I be sure it's not genetical? Pls suggest Also I want to know good physio centres

Consult any good orthopaedician urgently. If your scoliosis is beyond 40degrees, than it may be fixed by implantation of metals along spinal bones untill bone graft placed along curvature gets rigidly fixed to the spine to make the allignment straight as much as possible. This is called scoliosis surgery. You may also develop some degenerative scoliosis due to old trauma or osteoporosis, which may be treated by your orthopaedician. You also need to be put on bracing for supporting scoliosis.
