Seeking for right treatment
Hello, years back i was diagnosed dissociative disorder, about which i would gladly say that i am completely recovered from it. But some phobias ( esp. herpeto phobia ) came at the time of that disorder and somewhere they still remain. Intensity has decreased, but still i feel anxious, become shaky, heavy breathing and sometimes start crying just by being encountered by lizards. Previously, i couldn't even look at pictures of lizards, snakes, python and crocodiles/ alligators but with the course of time, i have given alot of efforts to reduce them. Tried to understand from their point of view ( empathized), providing exposure to myself, and few weeks back i touched snakes 2 of them were cobra. Even with lizards i have tried being fine with them, reducing my proximity as well. But some times this irrational fear triggers back. I don't know why, don't know if it's a part of the process of coming out of this phobia or not. I am trapped in my own mind. Who can help me? please guide.

Hi! Glad to know about your successful recovery from dissociative disorder, and also the fact that you are making several efforts to overcome your anxiety. Overcoming your fears might not always be a linear or an easy process. I'd suggest that you continue making efforts without getting discouraged by some roadblocks on the way. If you feel that your anxiety is debilitating then please do seek professional help from a clinical psychologist who'd be able to help you out with psychotherapy
