Cough and cold every month may occur due to either allergy or infection.
If the child is having infection again and again every month you have to rule out what is the cause of infection. Avoid the child's contact with any disease person, can give influenza vaccine, regular hand wash and hygiene maintenance. The daily diet of the child should contain at least once a day food made from wheat rice pulses / dal, green leafy vegetables and fruits and milk. This will make a wholesome diet and increase the immunity of the child
The other common cause is allergy to cold. The medicines prescribed to you contains both meds for cold infection and allergy. If your child is allergic to temperature changes that is your child will have cough and cold whenever there is a change in temperature of the environment from hot to cold or cold to hot. if you take care of this things that is change in environmental temperature the recurrence of cough and cold will decrease considerably.
Also you can give steam inhalation at home nasal saline drops for nasal blockage. You can also give Tulsi Ginger Honey combination it is a part of home base remedies for cough and cold.
you can discuss this points with your pediatrician and take steps accordingly.
