Hi
My wife is having shoulder pain for almost 2 weeks now. First we thought it was a muscle cramp but the pain has now become persistent. She had lifted heavy weight one evening and after which the pain kicked in. It started with shoulder paining really bad only in 1 angle - when you stretch your arm sideways with palm facing down and lift it a little above shoulder height. But now the pain is ambient and is always there around left shoulder blade and till biceps/triceps. We have been using ice packs / heat packs to reduce the pain. Is it spondilitus? Or a ligament tear?
Please suggest if I should consult orthopaedic doctor or sports medicine doctor.
Thank you

Dear Madam
I can understand your concern. Shoulder pain could be due to several conditions. A detailed clinical examination by an Orthopaedic Shoulder specialist is recommended
