Single nostril two holes
I had a cleft lip which operated at a very early age.Thereafter I had a nasal voice which at times is unclear, so I investigated the issue and found that one of my nostril have a extra opening apart from the one used for breathing. This opening connects to my mouth, I have tested this theory by pushing some water from my mouth towards my nose and it starts to come out of the nostril that consist of the whole. So I wish to enquire for any remedy available for this problem. Can I improve my voice related issues without surgical assistance? If not than is there any surgery done to mend the same?

Hi. It seems that you have an element of either cleft palate or just muscle incordination caused due to weakness of the pharyngeal muscles secondary to cleft lip. Kindly get yourself examined by an Ent specialist which includes a nasal endocospy to confirm. Various treatment options will be discussed after thorough examination

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  So while you were researching, didnt you try to find out how the air goes from nose to lungs? Didn't you try to find out if its normal to have it? Since you have finished your investigations, why dont you consult a ENT specialist in person for further evaluation and management.  Take his expert opinion once. Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.
