I would like to know how many shades can one ligjten their skin by using hydroquinone and retin a for 3 to 4 months ...after that how do you maintain it ...

It's not something to be used for cosmetic purpose. Hydroquinone can have side effects. Please do not use it without prescription. The combinations of hydroquinone available in market also have steroids in it. There can be serious side effects due to those combinations. We donot prescribe hydroquinone unless there is pigmentation due to some skin condition.
A safer alternative is chemical peels and dermabrasion. Please consult me for details.
