Sleep Disturbance
My sleep has been disturbed since 5 days due to stress of coming exams. Either I wake up in middle of night or take 2 hrs to fall asleep. Should I visit doctor for sleeping pills or wait for some more days ???

Hi As you have problem for 5 days  so you should not wait more. Meanwhile try sleep hygiene,  take a warm bath at bed time, switch off  tv or mobile  atleast one hour prior to going to bed. Thanks and regards

Hello Mr. Good morning. I8 yrs is very early age to start for any sleeping pills until unless the problem of sleep disorders hold an important & sincere reason. Sleeping pills act upon ur brain ,thats very is delicate process. Without a proper & detailed evaluation & description of ur problems ,it will be injustice to provide any drugs to you. Now, next what you can do , you can evaluate some basic reasons for ur sleep disorders like, 1. Too much worry for exams can be a factor. 2 . Hyper alert of mind & body. 3. Exposing ur eyes to white light of laptop ,     desktop or Mobile delays the initiation of     sleep. 4. Consumption of too much tea, coffee,      coldrinks, cigarettes, gutka  or heavy food      are important issue to consider. 5. Ur room environment , a calm ,cool &      darkbroom is ideal for good sleep. 6. Any other Medicines that you are taking can     cause sleep problems. 7. Many more reasons are present. Everything in detail cannot be possible to discuss here right now.

If you really need a medicine ,you must have to discuss it with any Psychiatrist of ur choice. Discussion is must , Its ur brain ,you should avoid to experiment anything over it without consulting any doctor.

Sleep hygeine is very simple therapy for initial and mild form of sleep problems. 1 . Morning exercise is must min of 20 mins. 2.   Afternoon sleep must be avoided. 3.  Dinner must be before 2 hrs of sleep. 4.   Avoid heavy meals or fluids at night. 5. No consumption of any form substance is     good ( alcohol, tobacco,coffee, cigarettes) 6. Room must be calm, cool & dark. 7. Bed must be solely used for sleep no other     activities is allowed over bed. 8. Change ur bed or room for sleeping if above     tips are not helping. 9 . fix time for sleeping & waking. If not helping these tips, don't worry there are other form of therapies to help you. If required and necessary , Medicines will be given only after assessing it's need  and it should suit ur schedule. Take care. ** Have a safe & peaceful **
