Mild pain in throat for 3 days. After brushing the very back of my tongue I end up finding mucus back there. After brushing my tongue, the middle of my tongue has an orangish tinge (I think it's blood). I also have what I think to be transient lingual papillitis on the very back of my tongue.

You seem to be suffering from lingual tonsillar inflammation which can occur secondary to infections, reflux laryngopharyngitis, trauma etc. You may need to take symptomatic treatment like painkillers and antiseptic mouth gargle for few days for faster recovery
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
