Winging of scapula is a symptom. Cause are mainly 2. 1. Sarratus anterior 2. Long thoracic nerve Please get it checked first then go for serrerus anterior strength straining along with rotator cuff muscles.

Hello Are u having any pain either at rest or while doing any activities? Can u do overhead shoulder movements? Do u have any pain while doing the movement? From how many days u r having this problem? So mainly scapular winging is due to weakness of the seratus anterior muscle. How do u diagnose the condition? You have to strengthen the seratus anterior muscle and along with that the muscles surrounding the scapula. Start with stretching those muscles and next start doing the strengthening exercises. You can also do push ups that will prevent the winging of scapula.

There can different reasons of pain. Need proper examination and evaluation of problem.for better treatment plan. Visit to nearest physiotherapy clinic. Use pain'relieving gel like volini gel or diclofenac gel. Use ice pack or hot water fermentation three times a day 10 min-15min. Start doing exercises for shoulder and neck as well. Shoulder strengthening exercises and neck isometric exercises. Trapezius stretch, pectoral stretch. Need to check with your posture issue as well.

avoid lifting heavy weight. avoid long sitting. avoid using high pillow during sleeping. try to take a break inbetween your work.

It's difficult to develop winging in just 2 weeks unless there is significant nerve damage... So I guess the winging you noticed has been there for a while now. If there are no symptoms what made you notice the winging?

asymptomatic winging doesn't require treatment unless you plan to take up intense physical activity like a sport or weight training program.. if it still bothers you a few exercises for your shoulder blade and shoulder joint will do the needful! consult for further information.

You need to perform a graded progressive exercise protocol for your condition. You need to perform strengthening exercises for your scapular musculature. And stretching for chest region.

Hi May I ask that how did you find out whether it is winging of scapula ? Are you a good sports player or have you tried any new sport which also might be a cause for winging or weakness. Try some shoulder stretches and DON'T do shoulder rotations. Try wall push ups which might strengthen your scapula and try few back rolling exercises on a foam roller if you have.
