Stage/grade of ACL tear in knee
Hi Doctors, How can we know what is the stage of my ACL tear in Knee. As per MRI reports it is written that "Heterogeneous signal intensities with non-visualization/discontinuity of fibers of ACL- likely full thickness tear" Also is that true grade 1 or 2 can be recovered with physiotherapy but not grade 3? Please reply.

Mri is not a ultimate decision maker for surgery It’s a combination of clinical examination and imaging which decides wether to operate or not And clinically it’s the instability which we look for If ur knee shows intability as compared with the other knee and then ur findings on mri are considered If ter is no instability clinically then we can consider conservative management Talking about grades in mri It’s not of much importance if ur knee is lax If lax knee + mri findings then the options is operate
