If you have symptoms such as throat pain, difficulty in swallowing and swollen and painful neck lymph nodes then you may be suffering from acute pharyngo-tonsillitis which may be due to streptococci. You may need to take antibiotics and painkillers along with antiseptic mouth gargle for few days
