Stress due to food.
Hello, morning, we have two children, a boy, 11 and a girl, 7. My husband is too much obsessed with food. He just wants the kids to have all the healthy food in the world. He says they need to be taught to eat traditional food or they won't know when they grow up. I agree food is important, but he forces them all the time. He doesn't have time for the kids and I don't expect him to, coz of his workload. He also is not interested in spending time with them physically or just to talk or listen to them at least. And even when he does have the time, he only talks(scolds) to them about food. Am worried that he might have already created an aversion over food. I don't know how to make him understand that keeping them happy is more healthier than forcing healthy food. I am exhausted we've been fighting over this all the time in front of kids. Other than this I don't have any issues with him. This just ruins our life. Please do help. Thank you.

We suggest when you spend together to try to make that time more productive and little fun together this makes the environment light and healthy. Please don't try this if your husband reacts differently to humour. Also please try to understand the reason why he is getting angry, maybe it's a valid reason sometimes try not to repeat that. Please have a one to one communication with your husband and ask him solutions for this to have a healthy atmosphere at home. Let him come up with ideas wherein scolding can be avoided. Share your feelings with each other more often. Still, if there is no change please visit a professional for help.

Dear client I understand your concern for your children. I can imagine that the dinner which should be a family time gets transformed into a battle zone.I don't know what your children think about this. The argument boils down to who is good parent and how to raise  children correctly.
Next Steps
Your husband might be feeling guilty about being absent from the life of children. So ensuring and demanding that they eat right is his way of compensating. He equates food with love. Maybe his upbringing made him to act like that.Understand him and talk to him in private. In stead of reminders of his negligence appreciation fpr his concerns will make him less adamant.
Health Tips
You can schedule 2 healthy meals with 1 junk snack or one day a wk for junk food and weekdays for healthy diet.It has to be with mutual thought.

Hello, What's been the beginning or start of needed to eat healthy. Was it always a part of his life, of not, when and why did it begin? A specific event, or a gradual phase? Is it realistic or reasonable?
Next Steps
If you can sit and discuss this with your husband, it would help to understand his intention. In the meantime, talk to your children about how they feel towards this and let them know that you're there for them. To find a balance between healthy eating discussions and quality time with parents.
