I am suffering from oily dandruff for the past two years. I used ketoconazole and zinc pyrithione lotion for the past two months but it didnt work at all. I dont apply oil and i wash my scalp on alternate days with a neutral ph shampoo but still flakes are stubborn and forms thick crusts on scalp. Pls suggest me any other medication or ways to remove stubborn flakes

Dandruff can be treated with lotions and shampoo (not commercial ones). Some people do have more oily scalp which cause visible flakes which we call dandruff. There are some other conditions also which can present like flaking of the scalp and have to be ruled out. Do not apply oil on scalp as it will increase the problem. Please call me or contact me with photos through online consult option for proper examination diagnosis and treatment.,
