Stubborn post weakness.
About a month ago my Grandfather was admitted to the hospital on account of his lungs being weak, as it's really cold back home at this time of the year. Although he was discharged and came back home well, he has started to get stubborn. Not only is he afraid of getting short of breath, but he won't eat unless forced, or get off of bed and won't listen to anyone at all. He's behaving in a manner rather uncharacteristic of him, which is obviously getting difficult to handle. What can be done to minimise this issue?

Dear friend, He seems to be anxious about the problem that he has faced recently. Due to his age he is more like a child. Handle him as you handle a child. You need to be more patient and keep a cool and calm head to handle him. You can try taking him for a walk to parks, or temples if he is interested. Change his mind from being at home and bed. Make him hear any bhajans or melodious music that will relax his mind. Wishes

Your grandfather's change in behaviour is of recent origin & has happened after the physical problem of chest infection. He seems to be anxious about physical ill health & seems to be irritable. Since it is getting difficult to handle him, I suggest that you visit a psychiatrist with the recent reports done during his illness.Only after assessing your grandfather & talking to him, the cause of the symptoms can be analysed.
