Hello, 2D ECHO is in simple words Sonography of heart. It is done with a probe over left side of chest. It tells us about overall pumping of heart ( Normal pumping or EF = 55-65%) suggests good heart function. Any value less than 55% indicates weakness of heart in some regions. If EF in present test is same or better than previous 2D ECHO report than nothing to worry. But if EF is lesser than before than it indicates new weakness of heart , at times may indicate stent blockage also. Other helpful parameters in 2DECHO are valve funtion, valve leak/narrowing, heart size etc.
Next Steps
Continue medications for heart regularly, exercise/walk daily, cut down on salt, fried, oily food.
