Stye in eyes
It has been 1 year since I am having styes either in my eyes, on my cheeks, thighs, calves, hips etc. But mainly in my eyes. It is painful and a lot of puss and blood flows out once once the like bursts. I have consulted a physician and an endocrinologist(ongoing treatment of PCOS, consulted him to check for any side effects of medicines-Aldactone50, Overal-l). Both of them didn't know why it was happening. The physician had suggested Moxikind 650 while the endocrinologist gave me Septilin tablets. I have completed the course of both the medicines. I have been tested for sugar (Within range). Earlier, the stye occurred when my period was about to start. But after 6 months, the relationship broke. Styes occur at uneven intervals. Sometimes, once a month and sometimes, once in three months. But each episode includes atleast 2 styes. Kindly let me know what could be the probable cause of the problem and the permanent solution. Thanks.

Hello..... Good that u have put such a detailed history. First of all the inflammatory lesions that occurs at the eyelids are called stye. Rest of the area, must be having the superficial folliculitis kind of infections. The recurrent infection is the one which is bothering u. The aldactone and the overal-l are both steroid-like in nature and the steroids are known to decrease the immunity , leading to such kind of infections. But for the treatment of PCOS these medications are necessary. There should be a proper balance between these two things.
Next Steps
Its better if u can take a second opinion from an endocrinologist to work this out, if at all this might be the case.
Health Tips
always make a habit of washing ur hands as frequently as possible, coz the skin infections from other parts of the body, if handled and the same hands used to rub the eyes, causes the stye more frequently.
