Suffering from anxiety.
My father he has recently undergone a major eye operation. And he is not been recovering too well. He also left his job and has been looking for a new one, without much luck. All this is taking a toll on his mental health and he is suffering from anxiety and panic attacks very frequently. He is constantly worried about his future and other things. All this is causing him to go into depression. Kindly suggest what should we do?

Dear Sir, there are two possibilities here-one, that your father is facing an adjustment problem in which case psychotherapy will be sufficient- second, it could be beginning of clinical anxiety disorder which happens due to deficiency of serotonin in the brain, in which he will require serotonin boosting treatment. I would suggest you show to a psychiatrist first so it can be clinically differentiated. Thanks
