Suffering from Knee pain
Hi Doctor, This is Vikalp. Doctor I am suffering from knee pain. It's has been more than 3 years. In 2016 i was preparing for some arm forces physical exams. One day while running, i started feel a little irritation in my knee but i ignored that and participated in a 100 mtr race. After that race my knee started hurting a lot. I have consulted to doctors. They told me that due to overuse of your knee there is a swelling in your patella. They injected some kind of fluid inside my knee. That thing reduced my pain for some time but my knee started hurting again. Please suggest me what should i do so that i can go back to my normal life. I feel pain even when I walk or do daily life works. Intensity of pain increases a lot when i run or do excercise.

Again this pain is due to weakness of your that leg muscles. Assess the same by doing a single leg standing and the time difference between both. Do a skyline view of both knees to identify patella malalignment as you are having patellofemoral pain secondary to muscle weakness and patella malalignment. This happens due to habits of sitting cross legged using that leg.

No need to worry , start with knee exercises and strengthen the muscles around the knee. Avoid painful activities.

Hi, as you are suffering since past 3years and pain hasn’t subsided much better to get an MRI Scan of your knee first. As there are two meniscus and 4 ligaments in a knee joint. Usually the meniscal injuries leads to pain. Get an MRI done, check with a sports medicine specialist and get an opinion.
Next Steps
If the meniscal tear is minimal, you can get away with Physiotherapy and strengthening exercises of your hamstrings and quadriceps. Take care.
