Lack of physical activity and any exercises plus prolonged sitting can cause swelling due to pressure of sitting crossed, calf tightness and joint stiffness. Becoming active, stretching exercises and joint movement is required.

I advice you to walk regularly at home, keep your legs elevated by keeping a pillow under ankle while sleeping
If you are hypertensive pls check your BP once and keep it under control
If the swelling keep extending upwards with pain consult a day doctor
