Swollen eyes & itchy red rash

Asked for Female, 18 Years

My eyes are swollen completely and I have a large itchy red rash spreading across my chest, arms, neck, and shoulders. I had this problem ~a week ago, they didn't know what was wrong with me so they decided to put me on steroids and hope for the best.

You are probably suffering from what Dermatologist call urticaria. Common causes are food allergy, infection or drugs taken for some condition. It presents with itching resulting in formation of red rashes which we call hives or wheals. This may be accompanied by swellling on face and eyes. Although in most cases cause remains unknown in spite of a thorough search. It can be symptomatically treated with medicines so that you do not get any new hives.
