Swollen structure under tongue

Asked for Female, 19 Years

There is some type of skin tag underneath my tongue that has become swollen and extremely painful over the past week. It is not on the floor of my mouth, but on the right side of my tongue on one of the two parallel folds of my tongue. What is causing this, and how to I treat it?

What I could understand with your description, it might be a swelling of the submandibular gland duct, you should watch for the increase in its size after eating food and consult your dentist
