Taste buds change
Hello Doctor! I got tonsillectomy 15days back, my recovery has been good, and I'm almost recovered. I don't experience any pain while swallowing food...but my concern is I'm not able to taste the food properly, If I eat the sweetest thing I still feel there is less sugar in it And I'm not able to taste any food properly...Are these the effect of surgery?...If yes, when will my taste buds be back to normal?

Hello, these are all temporary effects and will subside as days roll on .Don't start taking everything suddenly ,star it gradually ,during surgery doctor gives anesthesia, tastelessness could be the effect of that . . wash mouth twice daily ,claen the tongue , your taste buds return to normal gradually in 15 - 20 days . Go to doctor for follow-up
