My mom had a paralysis attack 5 years back. She is doing ok now but recently has got a taste problem. Sweet and sour tastes salty. I found this condition is similar to hypogeusia but just a guess. She has been prescribed multivitamins but no effect. Should this be treated by a dentist?

No this will not be treated by a dentist. It will be better to perform a clinical test of cranial nerves 7,9,10 as these 3 are involved in taste sensations from different parts of the tongue. It would be better to physically visit a doctor so that examination can be performed and the cause be defined.
