my girlfriend is pregnant
she is 19
what is the procedure for abortion?
will parent consent be needed for that?
Can she go alone to hospital for abortion?

If the patient is above 18 years, parents consent is not needed. She can go alone to hospital, but it's better to have an emergency contact. Up to 7 weeks, termination can be done on OPD basis. Beyond that, minor surgical procedure is needed. Do CBC, blood group and ultrasound beforehand to save time. She may visit me in Andheri East for the same

If she is above 18, she can go for termination without parents consent. If she has a pregnancy less than 7 weeks, which can be judged from ultrasound reports, she can take pills which will not require any admission. If more than 7 weeks, she will have to undergo a d&c which is a day care procedure... Cost varies from hospital to hospital...
