There is no fixed test other than biopsy of a lesion which can confirm head and neck cancers The signs are any visible neck mass, change in voice , any ulcers in throat or difficulty in swallowing usually The costs vary on the site affected and the test ordered A simple clinical examination is the first step

Throat is a layterm it has 3 parts Oropharynx Hypopharynx and larynx Needs Indirect laryngoscopy videolaryngoscopy and upperGI scopy to completely examine it Symptoms can be nothing or pain while swallowing, bad breath, blood in saliva sputum or difficult swallowing, excessive saliva or secretions, altered voice ,pain radiating to ear
