I have a throbbing pain in my buttocks that feels throbbing when sitting for long. Sometimes it happens even if not sitting for long. What can be the issue and can it be resolved by chiropractor?

It could be piriformis syndrome, where nerve impinges and give pain like a sciatica. Yes it can be resolved by chiropractor. Meanwhile you can do piriformis stretching and see the difference.
Next Steps
piriformis stretching and core strengthening.
