Hi,don't worry there is nothing scary in dentistry even all our instruments look so.feel free to consult your dentist .He /she will do a proper tmj $ oral examination and advice you to take a full mouth x-ray to examine your teeth and the jaw .so they can evaluate more accurately the reasons for your pain
Next Steps
consult the dentist for a proper diagnosis
Health Tips
surgery is not the only option for tmj there are many non surgical treatments like medication to relive the pain,no drug therapies like oral splints , mouth guard, physical therapy, injections..... according to the severity arthrocentesis, and condyloctomy done .And do crowning of your rct treated tooth if infection is ruled out

Surgery isn't the only solution for the TMJ disorders. At first, get your condition diagnosed thoroughly as similar symptoms can also be present with wisdom teeth.
Next Steps
Get a thorough check-up, and also radiographs.
