I am 20 years old,and I am having problem of jaw tightening since last one and half year.It actually started when my wisdom teeth started to come out from jaw with a weird feeling. Whenever I wanted to get rid of tightening by moving my jaws horizontally, I do hear a cracking sound .By doing so tightening vanishes for sometime, but at same time of cracking I feel pain. kindly tell me what to do and to whom I should consult

The problem you are explaining can be looked up by a term called disc derangement with reduction. The main concern seems to be your joint and not the wisdom teeth. Nevertheless a consultation with a good oral and maxillofacial surgeon is mandatory. Please do not delay. It can get worse.

You can consult a good oral surgeon who specialises in TMJ problems. Do not make extreme horizontal movements of the jaw and avoid very wide mouth opening. Have a soft diet . Your dentist may prescribe an anti inflammatory medication.
